Eastern State Hospital Replacement Facility

Description:  This project is currently under construction in Lexington, Kentucky. It will replace the states aging Psychiatric Hospital. Designed in conjunction with the SmithGroup, the main building is a 273,000 SF, three story building located on a 28.85 acre site at the University of Kentucky Coldstream Farm. The project includes four Personal Care Homes at      12,616 SF each.  The new Campus includes 168 adult psych beds, 25 forensic beds, 25 geriatric (GERO) beds, 12 acquired brain injury beds and 48 personal care home beds. The entire project will be LEED Certified (Silver) when complete.  The project is being designed and constructed using Collaborative BIM, where the architects and engineers and contractors all work together on a detailed model of the building.
